The North West Provincial Treasury is urging all suppliers to urgently update their details on the
Central Supplier Database (CSD) before 31 August 2025 to avoid being automatically
deactivated and prevented from doing business with government. The term “suppliers” also
includes NPO’s and all parties doing or intending to do business with government.

From 1 August 2024, National Treasury introduced enhancements to improve supplier data
accuracy and streamline procurement processes. All suppliers must now upload a valid Proof of
Address (PoA) for each physical address listed on their CSD profile, ensure PoA documents are
not older than 3 months. Additionally, suppliers with disability and military veterans are also
encouraged to upload proof of disability and evidence of being a military veterans.

For military veterans and people living with disabilities, all documentation must be in PDF format.
The preferred address will be validated through a multi-tiered and phased process to ensure
data accuracy. The key objective is to confirm that the address captured on the CSD matches
exactly with the supporting document uploaded.
The Acting Provincial Procurement Officer, Adv Thomas Sekoboane, indicated that although
CSD is a self-registration system, Provincial Treasury has been assisting suppliers across
districts with these updates. This initiative is informed by the fact that the North West Province is
largely rural, and therefore, not all the 61 277 suppliers register in the CSD in the Province,
necessarily have the online facilities to effect the updates.

“This address verification project is critical. On 18 June 2025, 72% (i.e. 43 925) of the suppliers
in the North West Province had updated. If suppliers do not update and upload valid proof of
address, they will be regarded as non-compliant and unable to trade with government.
We are urging all suppliers to heed the call before the 3rd time revised deadline of 31 August 2025,”
Sekoboane explained.

This week, Provincial Treasury officials are in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District to help suppliers
register and update their information on the CSD. Similar engagements are planned across
other districts to ensure all suppliers have the support they need to remain compliant.
