Provincial Treasury registers significant progress in the past financial year

Tabling the 2023/24 at the Provincial Legislature, MEC for Finance Motlalepula Rosho indicated that Treasury registered significant progress in the 2023/24 financial year.   MEC Rosho informed the Legislature that various municipal support programmes have been implemented. These include the deployment of Provincial Executive Representatives (PER) and Provincial Municipalities Financial Recovery Services teams to assist with the implementation of interim rescue plans and development of the financial recovery plans. The PERs act on behalf of the Executive Council. MEC Finance introduces the Provincial EXCO Representatives to municipalities that are under mandatory intervention to implement Financial Recovery Plans

Rustenburg: MEC for Finance, Ms Motlalepula Rosho has introduced the Provincial EXCO Representatives (PERs) that have been appointed to lead the eight municipalities that are under mandatory and discretionary intervention to implement the Financial Recovery Plans (FRP).   MEC Rosho indicated that the Executive Council resolved to place Naledi, Dr RSM, Madibeng, Kgetlengrivier, Ramotshere Moiloa, Tswaing, Ditsobotla and Mahikeng, under Mandatory Intervention in line with Section 139(5) (a) and (c) of the Constitution read together with Section 139 of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA). MEDIA ALERT 27 February 2022   The MEC for Finance, Motlalepula Rosho will execute her legislative responsibility as stipulated under Chapter 4, Section 27 (2) of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) by tabling the Provincial Annual Budget for the 2023/24 financial year.
