The North West Provincial Treasury through its Provincial Supply Chain Management (SCM) programme, in collaboration with the National Treasury, will host a workshop for SCM officials on the changes effected on the Central Supplier Database as well as the various challenges relating to the database on the 9th September 2026 in Rustenburg. North West Treasury forum strengthens municipal audit and risk oversight

Rustenburg: The North West Provincial Treasury has concluded a two-day forum for Chief Audit Executives (CAEs) and Chief Risk Officers (CROs) to strengthen municipal risk management, internal audit and integrated assurance. The Forum held on 4 and 5 September brought together representatives of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), National Treasury, municipalities, Audit Committees, and municipal Internal Audit and Risk Management units. Discussions focused on embedding risk management across municipal planning and operations, so that risk information informs resource allocation, service delivery priorities, corrective action and Council oversight. Mahikeng: The North West Provincial Treasury today convened all 22 municipalities in the province to assess their readiness to submit the 2025/26 annual financial statements to the Auditor-General South Africa (AGSA) by the legislated deadline of 31 August 2026. The engagement forms part of the province’s drive to achieve full, credible and timely compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA). Section 126(1)(a) of the MFMA requires each accounting officer to submit annual financial statements to the Auditor-General within two months of the end of the municipal financial year. North West Provincial Treasury strengthens governance through targeted capacity building

Rustenburg: The North West Provincial Treasury trained senior management, personal assistants, secretaries and members of the Risk Management Committee on corporate governance, ethics management, risk management as well as anti-fraud and anti-corruption. The Corporate Governance, Ethics Management, Risk Management and Anti-Corruption Workshop equipped officials with the knowledge and skills needed to strengthen good governance across government. The two-day session covered governance frameworks and structures, public service ethics and conflicts of interest, enterprise risk management, and the prevention, detection and reporting of fraud and corruption.
